For the past 3 years Grace has worked with Mpilo Hospital in Bulawayo. Mpilo is Public hospital and like most Public hospitals in Zimbabwe, is currently facing a lot of challenges in the maternity ward. These challenges range/vary from not having enough cotton wool, Methylated spirit or simple basic needs that a new mother needs. Besides the hospital concerns, the mothers that come to deliver can hardly afford food, clothing and basic necessities for their babies.

As Grace we have made hampers that aim to help the mothers for the first six months after delivery. The hampers are intended to help the mother give enough care, love and rest before they can go out and look for work. These hampers have diapers, cotton nappies, wipes, Vaseline, bathing soap, washing soap, some clothes, baby blankets, cotton wool and methylated spirit.

Sometimes, as often as we can, we have added some food items to help mum when she leaves hospital, such as mealie meal, peanut butter and some sugar. As Grace we do realise this is the bare minimum and hope to do more and add more to the list of what we already doing.
